This remarkable timepiece from Audemars Piguet's Jules Audemars collection is a true testament to not only the brand's watchmaking virtuosity, but their attention to the importance of aesthetics. This watch is exceptionally unique due to the fact that it is the only watch that features a grande sonnerie dynamograph; an indicator of the actual torque delivered by the barrel. Another impressive characteristic of this luxurious timepiece is that the watch falls under the category of a "carillon"; a musical instrument that is typically housed in the bell tower (belfry) of a church or other municipal building. Needless to say, it is amazing that the Audemars Piguet horologists were able to house this technology within 39mm of platinum.
The watch's dial is a burnished silver color which dovetails quite nicely with the platinum case. It displays the hours and minutes with blue-steeled hands and black Roman numeral hour markers. The dynamographe is discreetly placed next to the subsidiary seconds subdial and the power reserve indicator is located at the top right-hand corner of the dial. The previously mentioned sonnerie modes are quite impressive and emit an enjoyable sound striking the hours and quarter hours (grande sonnerie mode) and the hours on their own (petite sonnerie mode).
The watch has a unique case back which allows one to see right into the heart of the watch. Lastly, the watch straps to the wrist with a black crocodile leather strap with a deployment clasp.
